Popular YouTube investigator Coffeezilla warns viewers, “Do Not Buy It,” as Hunter Biden launches a new cryptocurrency token.

Investigative YouTuber Coffeezilla, whose real name is Stephen Findeisen, has warned the public against buying Hunter Biden’s upcoming cryptocurrency.
On September 7, 2026, Hunter Biden posted a video on X promoting his new cryptocurrency, the $LAPTOP meme coin, which is scheduled to launch on September 9.
The roughly 32-second video was a compilation of clips from various media outlets and Trump administration officials repeatedly referencing his infamous laptop. Hunter Biden ended the post with the ticker and launch date, drawing immediate attention online.
Just a few hours after Biden’s post, Coffeezilla reposted it and issued a direct warning to his followers. The YouTuber wrote:
“After months of calling out Trump corruption, Hunter Biden is launching his own s***coin called LAPTOP. Do not buy it.”
The comment is consistent with Coffeezilla’s long-running focus on questionable cryptocurrency projects, online scams, and celebrity-backed financial ventures.

Where Did the Name $LAPTOP Come From?
The name $LAPTOP comes directly from one of the most controversial episodes surrounding Hunter Biden. The token draws its name from the laptop Hunter Biden left at a repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware, in 2019.
The contents of the laptop later spread online before the 2020 presidential election, becoming a major part of political attacks surrounding Biden’s overseas business dealings. The episode continued to follow him for years. In 2024, federal prosecutors also used material from the same laptop as evidence in his federal gun case.
Rather than distancing himself from the controversy, Biden now appears to be using it as the branding for his new cryptocurrency. The choice of the $LAPTOP ticker directly connects the project to an episode that has remained part of the political conversation.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the token will trade under the ticker $LAPTOP on Base, the blockchain built by Coinbase. The project has a total supply of one billion tokens, with founders, including Biden, set to hold 30% of the supply. Those tokens will be locked for six months and fully vest over two years.
Another 20% will reportedly be distributed through two airdrops to wallets that lost money on Trump’s TRUMP meme coin, Biden’s Substack subscribers, and a mailing list run by video journalist Andrew Callaghan.
