Recently, Elon Musk stated on X that the government is the “most monopolistic corporation” with a “monopoly on violence.”
On October 24, 2026, Tesla CEO Elon Musk replied to a post about alleged U.S. government inaction against the controversial Fernald school science experiments throughout the 90s. While doing so, he criticized people who “oppose” corporations and not the government. He called the government the “most monopolistic corporation” and said it holds a “monopoly on violence.” Musk wrote:
“Those who are opposed to corporations and favor government do not realize that government is simply the largest, most monopolistic corporation of all and it has a monopoly on violence.”
The original post made by @Rothmus had a 40-second clip and caption depicting a series of historical science experiments conducted in the U.S., documented as the Fernald tests. According to the Smithsonian Magazine, researchers from MIT, partly funded by the Atomic Energy Commission, fed disabled kids radioactive iron and calcium through oatmeal and milk, without the informed consent of their parents.
This incident happened between 1946 and 1953, when researchers lured children in for tests in the name of a “science club” and special privileges and outings at Fernald State School.
Elon Musk Claimed that the US Government Controls Starshield
On October 15, 2026, while replying to a tweet from the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine @FedorovMykhailo thanking Elon Musk for “removing Starshield’s speed limit,” the CEO of SpaceX claimed that the US government “owns and controls” the Starshield systems. He wrote:
“Starshield systems are owned and controlled by the US government. Any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS.”
