The Kern County District Attorney’s Office is moving to reopen former YouTuber EDP445’s case following his documentary.
The Kern District Attorney’s Office is reportedly reopening the EDP445 case. The decision to revisit this case was due to the former YouTuber’s documentary, and it gave the authorities a reason to give it another look. The documentary was directed by Mike Clum; it even featured Chris Hansen, the host of “To Catch a Predator.”
In 2021, EDP445, whose real name is Bryant Turhan Emmerson Moreland, was caught in a sting operation. The former YouTuber believed he was talking to a young girl but was confronted by vigilantes. He was able to walk away with no charges, but at the cost of his online career.

The Kern County District Attorney’s Office Is Reopening the EDP445 Case
Alex Rosen was instrumental during the 2021 sting where the YouTuber played as a decoy to lure out EDP445. However, due to the nature of the sting, the former YouTuber was never formally charged, but the allegations single-handedly destroyed his online career. Mike Clum reached out to the former YouTuber and made the ‘The Sick Mind of EDP445’ documentary.
The documentary featured the former YouTuber sitting down with Chris Hansen to discuss what he was feeling before the sting. The exchange between the two raised a few eyebrows, while other streamers like Jynxzi and MoistCr1TiKal reacted to his responses. Jynxzi was confused about how the justice system works and how the former YouTuber isn’t in prison.
After the documentary was made public, the district attorney’s office is now re-examining the case and reviewing the film for additional information.
