Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland recently lashed out at Patrick Clancy, the husband of Lindsay Clancy, whose case has drawn national attention following the deaths of their three children.
Strickland took to X on August 31, 2026, to address the Lindsay Clancy case. However, rather than targeting Lindsay directly, the MMA fighter turned his attention toward her husband and questioned his actions before the tragedy.
Strickland questioned how Patrick could have left his children alone with Lindsay despite knowing that she was taking medication and experiencing serious problems. His comments focused on whether Patrick should have recognized the warning signs and taken further steps to protect the children:
“Alright, Lindsay Clancy deserves the rope. BUT her husband! Man knows his wife is having thoughts about killing his kids, he knows she’s on drugs, leaves kids at home with her. Then gets involved with a girl months after his kids are murdered. F*** you. Get in line for the rope.”

Lindsay Clancy’s trial continues in Massachusetts. She is accused of killing her three children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, in January 2023. She has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, with her defense arguing that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and that her mental health struggles were worsened by problems with her treatment.
Patrick, her husband, has testified during the trial about what happened on the day his children died. His testimony and his relationship with Lindsay have received significant attention throughout the proceedings.
Strickland addressed the case on X on August 31, 2026. Under the same post, one X user pushed back against Strickland’s argument, stating that Patrick had done nothing illegal:

Strickland then responded with an example involving a dog to explain his position. He argued that if he knew someone was suffering from serious mental health problems, he would not even leave his dog in that person’s care:
“Bro if my girl said she wanted to murder my dogs im not leaving her alone with the dogs. F*** id leave her.”
The exchange quickly drew attention because Strickland was not discussing whether Patrick had committed a crime, but rather whether he had made the right decision given what he allegedly knew about Lindsay’s condition.
