Xbox and IKEA reportedly releasing furniture line for gamers

Xbox and IKEA are teaming up to release a new collection of gaming furniture and home accessories.

The collaboration was teased on August 18, with the companies confirming that the full range will be revealed at Gamescom on August 26.

While most of the collection remains under wraps, a short teaser shared online offered an early glimpse at furniture inspired by Xbox hardware.

The teaser shows a cushion shaped like an Xbox controller’s D-pad, along with a much larger piece resembling an analog stick.

It is unclear what the second product actually is, though its size and design have led to speculation that it could be a table or stool. Other items can be seen briefly in the Xbox-themed room, but no product names are revealed.

According to Parade, designers from IKEA and Xbox worked together on the collection, combining the retailer’s home furnishing experience with Microsoft’s knowledge of gaming.

Prices, release dates and the total number of products included have not yet been announced. Those details are expected when the collection receives its full reveal at Gamescom.

This is far from IKEA’s first move into gaming furniture. The company previously partnered with ASUS Republic of Gamers on a range containing more than 30 products, including desks, chairs, storage units and accessories.

However, the Xbox collection appears to be much more directly inspired by recognizable gaming hardware rather than traditional furniture designed for a gaming setup.

The partnership also arrives during Xbox’s 25th anniversary celebrations and follows a growing number of collaborations outside the games industry.

Earlier in August, McDonald’s partnered with Xbox on a promotion featuring Fallout, Halo and Forza Horizon 6 content.

Xbox’s Gamescom broadcasts begin on August 26, so fans will not have to wait long to learn whether the giant analog stick is a table, a chair or something even stranger.
