The world of Mortal Shell 2 is filled with items, equipment, and upgrade materials waiting to be discovered. Most of these can be found inside chests, which you can usually open simply by interacting with them. However, there are some chests that require a little more work, as you first need to find and interact with specific offerings tied to them.
One such chest can be found inside Mushroom Village, where you need to locate three candles. All three are within the village and relatively close to the chest, but they are spread across different spots. Here is where to find each one and what you will get from the chest.
How to Reach Mushroom Village in Mortal Shell 2
Most players will naturally find their way into Mushroom Village while exploring the area, but if you were killed by one of the angry villagers and need to find your way back, start from the Widow’s Overlook Beacon.
Head south-east from the Beacon and continue along the path. After passing the three cultist enemies, turn left to enter Mushroom Village. There are several enemies inside that will remain passive until you get within their range, so deal with them before exploring the area.
If your map is covered in fog, instead of going left into the Village, head right past the tree and towards the jump pad, which will lead you to your first map.
Once the enemies are dealt with, ignore the chest in the middle of the village for now. Instead, continue straight ahead through the village until you reach the Mushroom Village Beacon at the far end.
All Candle Locations in Mortal Shell 2
With the Beacon unlocked, head back toward the chest in the middle of the village. The first candle can be found on the wooden stage. Interact with it to activate the first offering.
From here, continue further into the village using the path on the right. As you approach the gateway on your right, which marks one of the village’s exits, look straight ahead to find the second candle.
For the final candle, turn left from this area and continue straight ahead. You will eventually find two villagers dancing next to some Weltcaps. You can deal with them with ease, especially if you have the Tiel Shell unlocked. The third candle is located here.
Once you have interacted with all three candles, return to the chest in the middle of Mushroom Village. You can now open it to claim your rewards.
Mushroom Village Chest Rewards in Mortal Shell 2
Inside the chest, you will find a Glimpse and the Auspicious Stone. The Auspicious Stone is a Support Tarstone that improves your melee Critical Chance.
With the chest opened, you can continue exploring Mushroom Village, investigate its other secrets, or leave through one of the village’s exits and continue exploring the world of Mortal Shell 2.
