Popular Twitch streamer Valkyrae talks about the moment she interviewed Steve Lacy during the world premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The streamer went live on their Twitch channel on August 4, 2026, and told her chat about what happened.
Valkyrae was allowed to interview celebrities who attended the red carpet and was careful with her questions. Unfortunately, during her segment with Steve Lacy, he seemingly gave away a major plot point from the film.
“I know it’s not my fault.”
Before giving Lacy the chance to answer her question, the streamer was explicit about not giving away any major spoilers. However, Lacy did the opposite and revealed the involvement of a major character who was deliberately excluded from any marketing material. Valkyrae reflected on the moment and revealed she felt bad for Spider-Man fans who were spoiled before watching the film.

Red carpet interviews are a good opportunity for artists and actors to give their final thoughts before sharing their work with the world. Valkyrae took the time and did her best to avoid entering spoiler territory in her interview, but Steve Lacy slipped. On stream, Valkyrae discussed her thoughts about what happened.
“When I really look at the situation, it’s kind of crazy that it happened.”
The Twitch streamer told her viewers she did extensive research before attending the red carpet and read several popular fan theories. While interviewing Lacy, she asked if there is a character he is excited to see on-screen and clarified not to spoil anything.
“My face is so funny. My reaction was insane, like I couldn’t even hide it, because I knew that it was not just a theory but a straight-up spoiler.”
After giving his answer, the streamer tried to salvage the situation as best she could. The Twitch star was hoping Lacy was joking and did her best to give him an exit. Unfortunately, Lacy doubled down and revealed another major spoiler about the film’s story.
“And then bro (Lacy) doubles down and on another spoiler.”
Valkyrae finished by saying she felt bad for fans who wanted to watch the film without learning of any spoilers. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now playing in theaters worldwide.
