Soulja Boy recently announced his presidential candidacy for 2028, claiming he would focus on “criminal justice reform.”
Popular rapper Soulja Boy recently announced that he would run for president in 2028. The Crank That singer shared a post on Instagram of himself standing in front of a huge American flag. He wrote that he is headed toward “a bigger vision,” claiming that he is willing to create opportunities for the next generation. As a future presidential candidate, Soulja revealed his focus on four areas, including the direction of artificial intelligence.
He also noted his endeavors outside of music, stating that he believes in “challenging what’s possible.” Expressing his desire to serve the public’s greater good, the rapper wrote this on Instagram:
“SOULJA BOY 2028. A new chapter. A bigger vision. A commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation. My focus is on four things: economic opportunity, criminal justice reform, education, and the future of technology and AI. From music to business to technology, I’ve always believed in thinking bigger and challenging what’s possible. Now I’m exploring what it means to bring that same vision to public service. The future starts with a conversation.”
As of writing, Soulja Boy’s post has garnered over 100,000 likes on Instagram. Several publications, including TMZ and Vice, have reported on the matter, along with popular X accounts.
This is not the first time Soulja Boy has floated the idea of running for president of the United States. The Kiss Me Thru the Phone singer has posts dating back over a decade in which he hinted at a future presidency. In May 2011, the rapper said he beat the odds of becoming a millionaire at 17, and that when he becomes president, he would laugh at his detractors. He wrote:
“They never thought I would become a millionaire at 17! Now when I become President I will laugh, yes! laugh in awe victory!”
Another post, from 2021, stated that he should be president. He said:
“I should be President. #SmartAmerica”
