Police mock man for missing GTA 6 after dangerous car chase leads to arrest

A police department from the UK mocked a criminal online by using Grand Theft Auto 6’s soundtrack, telling him to keep his offences to the streets of Vice City.

On November 3, Derbyshire Police uploaded footage of a recent car chase to TikTok. However, instead of it just being standard footage, they used a Grand Theft Auto 6-like HUD and the track ‘Flower in a Hurricane’ as the soundtrack.

“Could’ve just waited a few more weeks for GTA 6 to drop… now Jack’s in prison for release day,” they caption the video, noting the arrest of 29-year-old Jack Vickrage.

“Thirteen years is a long time to wait for the game, but nothing excuses driving like this in real life. Cutting corners and hurtling through residential streets with pedestrians and other vehicles in the middle of the day… save that stuff for the streets of Vice City.”

Derbyshire Police noted that the 28-year-old was arrested on charges of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, drug-driving, and cannabis possession too.

He has been sentenced to 14 months in jail, so he might get release in time for the launch of GTA Online.

Some viewers joked that the police had made one mistake in their video – only a five-star wanted level, seeing as GTA 6 will have six stars. “In lieu of GTA 6. This is pretty damn good,” one commented.

“Give admin early access,” another said, with Rockstar Games being tagged in the comments too.

This isn’t the first time that police have utilized GTA 6 in their arrests. Back in June, the DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office in Mississippi started referencing the game in their viral arrest posts.

Similarly, the Metropolitan Police have caught flak for referencing GTA 6 in some of their videos, including the use of a ‘busted’ screen for arrests.

A man also went viral for complaining that he was going to miss the launch of GTA 6, seeing as he was jailed for murder.
