The shooting occurred at around 8 pm local time, as the popular Mexican content creator had been streaming on Kick from outside a KFC in Culiacán, Sinaloa, while wearing outfits from a local food delivery service.

Gastelum, who has around 600,000 followers on TikTok and had grown in popularity due to his comedic skits, was approached by two people on a bike, who both had helmets on. The bikers opened fire on the streamer, with one appearing to shoot at Gastelum’s head.
