Disney Dreamlight Valley has a creepy well hiding a little puzzle this Halloween. The Haunted Well is one of the Trick or Treat event rewards, but getting your hands on it means solving a candy puzzle first. If this puzzle has you scratching your head, don’t worry. Here’s how to solve the Haunted Well puzzle in DDV.
How to Start the Haunted Well Puzzle in Dreamlight Valley
Red Chest Location for the Haunted Well in DDV
The first thing you need to do is go to the Plaza biome and find the red chest. Opening it will reveal a memory containing clues for the Haunted Well puzzle.
Its location may be different in your game, but the screenshot above shows where I found mine.
How to Solve the Haunted Well Puzzle in DDV
The Memory Shard shows three equations using green, red, and purple candies. You need to figure out the value of each candy to solve the puzzle.
Equation One:
- Green Candy + Green Candy + Green Candy = 45
Divide 45 by 3, and you get 15. This means each Green Candy is worth 15.
Equation Two:
- Green Candy + Red Candy + Red Candy = 35.
You already know that Green Candy is worth 15, so subtract that from 35. This leaves 20, which you divide by 2 to get 10. This means that each Red Candy is worth 10.
Equation Three:
- Green Candy – Purple Candy = Red Candy
Using the values from the first two equations, this becomes 15 − Purple Candy = 10. This means Purple Candy is worth 5.
The final values are 15 for Green Candy, 10 for Red Candy, and 5 for Purple Candy. Keep these numbers in mind.
Haunted Well Location in Dreamlight Valley
Once you have solved the equations, fast travel to the Forest of Valor to find the Haunted Well. The screenshot above shows where I found the Haunted Well in the biome, but its location may be different in your game. Interact with it and deposit the candies in this order:
- 15 Green Candies
- 10 Red Candies
- 5 Purple Candies
After depositing all the candies, you’ll unlock the Haunted Well. Open the Furniture menu to place it wherever you like in your valley.
You can also purchase additional Haunted Wells from Scrooge’s Store after completing the puzzle.
