BTS’ V reaches Master rank in League of Legends while touring

BTS vocalist Kim “V” Tae-hyung has reached Master rank in League of Legends solo queue on the Korean server, one of the most competitive ranked ladders in the world, while actively touring with the group.

The milestone was not formally announced. It was instead spotted in the background of an Instagram Story V posted regarding a Grammy announcement on August 6, 2026, after which fans quickly circulated the screenshot.

A years-long climb amid a packed tour schedule

Reaching Master at 1 LP puts V in the top 1.5% of the Korean server, a region long regarded as producing some of the best professional League talent in the world.

According to PCGamesN, his climb has taken years. He was last spotted publicly at Diamond 4 back in October 2023, before a promotion screen in June 2026 showed him at Diamond 2 with a 61% win rate across 72 games.

The final push to Master took 184 games total, fitted around rehearsals and travel for the group’s Arirang World Tour.

On Reddit, the reaction was torn between confusion and pure respect. “How does he have the time lol,” one wrote. “Dude must be an elite league player.”

Another highlighted just how stacked the odds were against him. “How is that even possible. My man is on a world tour, is playing with a sh*t ton of lag and gets master on the most competitive server. And during the day he is performing and rehearsing, when does he sleep?”

BTS and League of Legends have crossed paths before. In 2020, LCK legend Faker made a surprise appearance on Run BTS, performing alongside the group during the same episode that saw them team up with T1.
