Boruto Officially Unveils 2 New Uzumaki Clan Members

Introduced properly in Naruto Chapter 500, the Uzumaki clan is an incredibly important unit in Konoha, which has roots all the way into Uzushiogakure, a powerful country that once existed in the ninja world and was eventually destroyed. In the modern-day Boruto era, the Uzumaki clan is growing dramatically in terms of strength and influence.

Naruto Uzumaki, who is also the Seventh Hokage of the village, revitalized the Uzumaki Clan, and now, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has added two new members to this clan, making it stronger than ever before. In fact, a case can be made for the new Uzumaki clan to be the strongest clan in the entire history of the ninja world.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Expands The Uzumaki Clan With The Addition Of Kurama

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has significantly expanded the Uzumaki Clan and made it tremendously powerful. This happened as Naruto Uzumaki married Hinata Hyuga and inducted her into the Uzumaki Clan. Together, the two had two kids, both of whom are incredibly strong. Boruto Uzumaki is the protagonist of the Boruto series, and in the current Two Blue Vortex timeline, he stands as a ninja strong enough to fight and defeat the likes of the Otsutsuki. Boruto has the power of the Byakugan, as well as several other strong abilities that he developed in conjunction with Kashin Koji, as was officially explained to us in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga. Under the guidance of Sasuke Uchiha, Boruto became an incredibly powerful fighter, the likes of which can hardly be rivaled by anyone. Boruto is also the vessel of Momoshiki Otsutsuki and has recently, in Two Blue Vortex Chapter 28, which was released on November 20, 2025, struck a deal with him. Boruto can now fully make use of Momoshiki’s powers, making him a ninja above average Otsutsuki level.

“If we’re able to take down Jura, I’ll give you my body. You can tell, can’t you… that I’m serious?” — Boruto Uzumaki and Momoshiki strike a deal, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #28

Himawari Uzumaki is yet another character of the Uzumaki Clan, and she is also incredibly strong. It is through her that the Uzumaki Clan is getting a new member, and this member is none other than Kurama. Fans might be confused as to how Kurama is a member of the Uzumaki Clan, given that he was introduced as his own entity in the Naruto series as a Tailed Beast. However, things changed drastically in Boruto: Naruto Next Generation’s Chapter 55, released on February 19, 2021, where the Tailed Beast officially died following the usage of Baryon Mode in the battle against Isshiki Otsutsuki.

“Death is not permanent for us Tailed Beasts. Even if our flesh or soul perishes, over time, a kernel of us will sprout somewhere, and we will manage to return to life.” — Kurama explains how he returned, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #10

When Kurama’s chakra burnt out, he was always going to respawn somewhere in the world. Much to the surprise of everyone, he was reborn inside of Himawari instead. What was truly surprising was that Kurama does not exist as a Tailed Beast anymore. In fact, Kurama has fused with Himawari and become what is called in the Boruto series a ‘Human Tailed Beast.’ Kurama and Himawari are one body and one soul. They no longer exist as two entities that share a body. In simple words, Himawari is not a Jinchuriki of Kurama, and this was directly confirmed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #25. They both share one body, with Kurama being inside of her, making up a portion of her own self. As such, Kurama is officially a part of Himawari permanently and thus a member of the Uzumaki Clan.

“You’re no ordinary Shinobi. In fact, you’re even a little different from Jinchuriki…those who have the Tailed Beast inside them. You are human, yet, if anything, you’re more similar to me and Jura.” — Kurama confirms he and Himawari are one, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #25

Boruto Has Also Made Kawaki A New Official Part Of The Uzumaki Clan

Another character that has been added to the Uzumaki Clan in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is Kawaki. Fans know that Kawaki was adopted by Naruto Uzumaki early on in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generation series, but in the second part of the franchise, things have taken an incredibly exciting turn. Following the Omnipotence at the end of Boruto Part 1, Kawaki is widely recognized as the son of the Hokage and a member of the Uzumaki clan.

Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto even doubled down on Kawaki being an official member of the Uzumaki clan in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 24, which carried the title “Kawaki Uzumaki.” He fights for the sake of the Seventh Hokage and considers him the most prized person in his life as well as his benefactor. Everything Kawaki does is for the sake of Naruto Uzumaki, and that truly is heartwarming to see. Unfortunately, his actions eventually will lead him down the wrong path, and these are developments that we are eager to witness in the future of the Boruto franchise.

“Kawaki sealed dad because he wanted to protect him. Besides, even if I free dad, it doesn’t solve my problems with Kawaki.” — Boruto confirms Kawaki’s real goal, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #6

Why The Uzumaki Clan Will Continue To Grow In The Future

Uzumaki Clan Grow Future boruto

The Uzumaki clan is significantly stronger than it was in the past, but its growth will continue through the next generation, made up of Boruto Uzumaki, Himawari Uzumaki, and Kawaki Uzumaki. Boruto is being set up to eventually enter a romantic relationship with Sarada. Any children these two will have are incredibly likely to be overpowered and thus serve as the extension of the Uzumaki clan.

Meanwhile, Himawari Uzumaki is being set up in a romantic relationship with Inojin Yamanaka, and together the two could further expand upon the Uzumaki Clan after a significant timeskip near the end of the Boruto series. Kawaki doesn’t have any particular romantic interest, but he will likely get married eventually as well and do his part to increase the influence of the Uzumaki Clan within Konoha. As such, by the end of the Boruto series, the Uzumaki Clan will stand as the strongest in Konoha and have a multitude of new members, the likes of which we are eagerly waiting to see. For now, the story will see all the young members of the Uzumaki Clan, including Boruto, Himawari, and Kawaki, ascend to higher levels of power by facing off against overpowered enemies such as Shinju, Jura, and Hidari.
