The 36-year-old teacher from Atlanta designed this area for her students to let out some gas without the need to leave the room. The teacher showed her classroom through her TikTok account and explained where the idea came from.
“Where’s the gas station? Look no further, baby. It’s here.”
According to Sydney-Browning, this is her solution for students to stay within her classroom and to not miss out on anything in the class. It is a creative and innovative solution, and to take things further, the teacher also provided sanitizing equipment.

The Fart Corner Is an Atlanta Teacher’s Solution To Help Students Relieve Gas Without Missing Anything
As a teacher, Sydney-Browning wants to give her students her all. She realized how important education really is, and bio breaks can compromise their school time. Normally, a student would ask permission to step out, but the Fart Corner is there to put an end to that practice. In a follow-up TikTok post, Sydney-Browning explained how this space in her classroom works.
“If they have to relieve themselves, they would just simply get up, off the rug, and walk to that corner.”
Instead of calling it the Gas Station, the teacher revamped the name to the Gusty Winds Area. It is a fun workaround for students to let out some gas. In the corner, students will find cleaning materials, such as napkins and sprays. Rather than getting out of the room, the Fart Corner is still a part of it and is within earshot. In the eyes of Candy Sydney-Browning, it is a win-win for her and her students to not miss out on any instructions, and for classmates to not get a whiff of gas.
