Moonlighter 2 features three biomes in total, each hosting two different regions. There are 6 hidden treasures to find in Moonlighter 2, and each will grant unique recipes that you can use to craft new weapons, armor, and even companions! Below, you’ll find a full guide to finding all hidden treasures in Moonlighter 2.
You must obtain the quest for each hidden treasure before attempting to collect it. If you don’t claim the quest first, the hidden treasure portal will not appear in the region. To claim all hidden treasure quests, speak with Eris at Tresna after playing through the new region once.
Hidden Treasure in Kalina Day Realm
To find this treasure, you need to enter the node with the hammer icon. This is the node where you power up your weapon with one of the three legendary options. However, you will find the path to the treasure before heading to the blacksmith.
Once you spawn at this node, there is a staircase that takes you to the upper level. On the right side of the staircase, there is a wooden bridge, but you can only spot a small part of it. Instead of going up the stairs, take the path toward the bridge. Keep in mind that you will disappear from the screen while moving on the bridge, so move slowly to avoid falling!
Once you reach the other end of the bridge, you will have a new path to follow, with a green portal at the end. Entering this portal will launch a new mission. This is a platformer mission where you need to survive multiple obstacles to reach the end of the path. There will be no retries if you lose all your health. So, take your time and try to get past the obstacles patiently.
At the end of the path, you will find a recipe, which is the hidden treasure you were looking for. As soon as you grab it, the side quest for this hidden treasure will be ticked. The recipe belongs to a heavy blade named The Vow. You can visit the blacksmith at Tresna to craft this weapon.
Hidden Treasure in Kalina Night Realm
The hidden treasure in the Night Realm of Kalina is a tricky one. The treasure appears in a node that you can access via a passive perk. After you unlock the Night Realm and visit it once, go back to Eris at Tresna. Open the Upgrades menu and unlock the Onsen Room node. This is the bottom perk in the first skill tree.
Once purchased, this node will always appear in all adventures just before the final boss. In the Night Realm, this node also hosts the hidden treasure. So, as you can guess, you need to make it all the way up to the verge of the boss battle.
When you reach the node, enter the healing pool, but don’t take the stairs up. On the right side of the stairs, there is a narrow passage. Follow it, and you will reach another portal, just like the previous treasure.
The special mission for this treasure is about fighting multiple waves of slimes rather than a platformer challenge. It is strongly recommended to power up your special attack if you are using a short sword. Slimes are easy to kill if you dodge before they initiate their attacks. Once you defeat all slimes, you will find a recipe for Blu-Buddy at the end of the path, which is the hidden treasure for this region.
Hidden Treasure in The Gallery Exhibition Wing
The path to the hidden treasure of the Exhibition Wing can be found in the mini-boss room. First, you need to defeat the mini-boss. When you reach the area where you loot the reward chests, you should be able to spot a staircase on the left side that goes down. Follow the path and enter the portal.
This mission will also focus on surviving deadly traps and moving laser beams. This one is more difficult than the one at Kalina, as you need to be quick with your dodges. Thankfully, you will find a few areas where you can stop and take a break.
Although this mission is a little difficult, you will be rewarded accordingly at the end. Aside from a recipe, you will also unlock two chests.
The recipe for this hidden treasure belongs to Heartbeat Hunter, a pair of gauntlets that you can craft at Tresna and use as your new weapon.
Hidden Treasure in The Gallery Treasury Halls
To find this hidden treasure, it’s important to choose the path with the most Question Mark nodes. The portal to the treasure appears in a question mark node, but only in the one where you visit Silver, the merchant who mostly offers upgrades related to the quality of the relics. If you meet anyone other than Silver, you won’t get to find the portal. That’s why it’s safe to pass through multiple nodes with a question mark, so that if the first one is not Silver, you get to possibly meet him in the next one.
Once you find Silver, accept one of his offerings and then use the staircase just behind him to move towards the portal. Keep in mind that you won’t see the rest of the path. So, move slowly to avoid falling off and taking damage.
This portal takes you to a platformer challenge. Keep in mind that there are multiple branching paths in this challenge that lead to a dead end, forcing you to return and risk losing your health on the path. It’s strongly recommended that you peek at the end of the path if possible, and if there is no desk with a book on it, then it’s a dead end.
At the end of the challenge, you will be rewarded with a Blo-Blitz, which is a recipe for a new dual-wield weapon. It’s craftable at Tresna, assuming you have all the required materials.
Hidden Treasure in Aeolia Zephyr Fields
Making enough progress through the main quest objectives will unlock Aeolia, the final biome of the game. Zephyr Fields is the first region of this biome, and you can get its hidden treasure once you acquire the quest from Eris.
Zephyr Fields hosts the easiest hidden treasure to collect. You will neither fight enemies nor go through deadly traps. It’s just a platforming puzzle where you need to find the correct path between multiple dead ends.
The good news is that the path to hidden treasure is located at the starting node of Zephyr Fields. This means you will find the portal in the same node where you meet the two red and blue ladies, before beginning the journey.
Once the adventure begins, get past the two ladies, and just before reaching the usual teleporter zipline, look to the left, and you will spot a zipline that goes upward. Grab that and go up, where you will find the portal to the hidden treasure.
You will be dropped into a puzzle with multiple paths to take. Follow the images above wherever you have more than one path to take, and use the ziplines highlighted by a circle. If you choose the correct lines, you will eventually see yourself at the top level of your starting area, which is where the treasure is located.
This region grants you the Blo-Blaster recipe, allowing you to craft a new weapon for yourself at Tresna.
Hidden Treasure in Aeolia Howling Harbor
Before we talk about the treasure hidden in Howling Harbor, you might have difficulties unlocking this region of the biome. Regardless of how many times you beat the boss in the first region of Aeolia, unlocking Howling Harbor is tied to a side quest known as “Souls Forever Lost 2”. You will get this side quest from Julien. He is an NPC living south of Tresna near the staircase. You will unlock him by paying 500 coins to a hand coming out of a portal near the stairs.
Keep in mind that Julien is asleep at night. So, to acquire quests from him, you should only meet him during the day.
Once you have Howling Harbor unlocked, you should look for a Question Mark node again. This time, it must be an event with Anacard. He is the NPC with a little boy next to him, who usually offers challenges to upgrade your damage output. So, try to choose a path that features most nodes with a question mark.
When you see Anacard, there is a small secret path just behind him, next to the staircase. The path goes down, but you will get an “Interact” prompt somewhere along the line to use the zipline. This takes you to the mission portal.
The puzzle is similar to the one in the previous region. You will need to find a way to the hidden treasure through the branching paths. However, this one gives you a big hint. Wherever you see a bulletin board with two notes on it, that means you are on the correct path.
At the end of the road, you will find the recipe for Nimbus Regalia, a new craftable armor piece.
