You can get the Carbuncle Esper summon in Final Fantasy Resonance by solving the strange riddle puzzle in Ruby Cave on the continent of Olderion in Chapter 3.
If you’re reading this guide, you’ve probably already found Ruby Cave and are wondering where to find the three Fragments to solve the riddle. Here are the three locations!
All Ruby Fragment Locations in Final Fantasy Resonance
If you interact with the gravestone within the cave, you will learn where the three Fragments are located… kind of. The descriptions give a brief overview of each location, but they might not be immediately clear to players. In order to solve the puzzle, you’ll need to collect each Fragment in the order they are written in the cave:
- The first Fragment lies southeast of Aquapolis, and it holds the big and small ponds in both hands.
- The second is east of the city and faces the sea.
- The third one is to the northwest and is close to the seven waterfalls.
Fragment 1
As the gravestone reads, go to the area south/southeast of Aquapolis, and you’ll see a sparkling item in the middle of two ponds.
Fragment 2
For the next fragment, head over to the east side of Olderion by the coast. You’ll see the sparkling item on the right side of the path.
Fragment 3
And last but not least, head along the path west of Aquapolis, and you’ll see the waterfalls. Go left past them, and you’ll see the Ruby Fragment on a little elevated path by a mountain.
Getting Carbuncle Esper in Final Fantasy Resonance
Now, head back to Ruby Cave with the three Fragments, and Carbuncle will join your Esper roster after a brief cutscene.
At this point, you should have three Espers. Siren is gained automatically once you beat her in Siren’s Tower, but you can also get Ramuh by entering Mt. Thunderclap from a different entrance. To get him, you’ll need to fight him.
