Zack “Asmongold” has shared his thoughts on the concept of “punching up.” According to him, people “can be racist to White people, but can’t be racist to Black people.”

On August 5, 2026, a two-minute-41-second video from his recent Just Chatting livestream garnered significant traction on X. In it, Asmongold reacted to a Reddit post titled, “Either Shiloh Hendrix Should Be Set Free, Or Anti White Slurs Should Be Similarly Punished”.

While claiming that “punching up is culturally acceptable,” the Twitch streamer expressed his belief that “Black people are seen in a lesser position socially than White people”:

“You know, you can be racist to White people, you can’t be racist to Black people. You can say ‘Eat the rich,’ but you can’t say, ‘Eat the poor.’ Fat ******* can get around all day complaining about skinny *******, but the moment that skinny ******* get around and call a ***** fat, well now, they’re being bullies. You know, you can make fun of people who are tall and make jokes about them, but you can’t really do that in the same way with people that are short. I guess, maybe Kevin Hart is an example of the opposite. But in general, I think, that’s true.”

Asmongold added:

“The idea is that, like, punching down is culturally acceptable. Like, this is just the way it is. Black people are seen as being in a secondary or a lesser position socially than White people. So, that’s the reason why there’s this dynamic. Right? ‘Punching up.’ Yeah, sorry. Sorry. I mean, punching up. Right? So, punching up is culturally acceptable, and this is the case with everything.”

Twitch Streamer Asmongold Says There Is “Anti-White, Anti-Male, Anti-Rich Resentment” in Society

After Asmongold shared his thoughts on the concept of “punching up” being “culturally acceptable,” he stated that there are certain “resentments” in society.

He detailed:

“This is the case with everything. That’s the reason why you can have so much anti-White resentment, anti-male resentment, anti-rich resentment. But you can’t have a lot of the opposite, and it’s not culturally acceptable in the same way. It’s because of the entire idea of punching up.”

The Austin, Texas-based personality went on to say that people who “advocate for equality and tolerance are the most intolerant”:

“I think this is a really tough lesson for a lot of people to learn, which is that a lot of the people that advocate for, you know, equality and tolerance and all this stuff, are the most intolerant and the most, like, caste-based in their mind-type thinking people. Right? Those are always the way those people act.”
