Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently shared her thoughts on federal agents searching Ilhan Omar’s home as part of a criminal investigation.

On October 12, 2026, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shared her thoughts on Ilhan Omar’s home search. Recently, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) searched the representative’s home after an authorized search warrant was issued. According to AP News, the search was related to alleged immigration and fraud matters involving her family and background. A Department of Justice official said this was part of a criminal investigation, revealing it was an independent inquiry.
Ilhan Omar herself spoke about the matter following the search. She said it was an “attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.” Omar also alleged that Donald Trump had targeted her for a decade, calling it “political intimidation.” She wrote this on X:
“I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.”
Fellow Rep. AOC shared her thoughts on the matter. Claiming it was an “unprecedented abuse of power,” she said this on X:
“For years, the Trump admin has launched slanderous attacks against Rep. Omar. This morning, the administration sent federal officials to raid her home. We cannot and will not accept this unprecedented abuse of power. I stand with @Ilhan.”
Zohran Mamdani Shares His Thoughts on Ilhan Omar’s Home Search

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani recently shared his thoughts on Ilhan Omar’s home search. Mamdani said the federal government “turned the full force” of the DHS on Omar, allegedly for disagreeing with the White House. He condemned the action, saying the “path to citizenship” should not be weaponized. He wrote this on X:
“This morning, the federal government turned the full force of the Department of Homeland Security against a sitting member of Congress for the offense of disagreeing with the White House. The path to citizenship should not be weaponized against anyone, including Rep. Ilhan Omar, a naturalized American who swore an oath to this country — the same one that I took. The promise of citizenship should not be contingent on someone agreeing with the federal government.”
