Topps’ newest baseball card set includes an Abraham Lincoln autograph, despite the former president having no connection to professional baseball.
The 2026 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball set features a 51-card Cut Signatures checklist, with every card limited to one copy. The lineup includes baseball legends such as Babe Ruth and Willie Mays, alongside historical figures including Lincoln and Winston Churchill.
The Lincoln card is not an autograph that was signed directly onto a baseball card. Instead, it contains an authentic signature cut from a document and embedded into the card.

Cut Signature cards are made by taking a genuine historical autograph from a letter, document, check or another signed item, then carefully removing it and placing it into a trading card.
Topps has used the format for other presidential cards in the past, including a 2009 Abraham Lincoln card containing a one-of-one cut signature. The company says these signatures are sourced from original materials and authenticated before being added to cards.
That makes the Lincoln card more of a historical artifact than a traditional baseball autograph. Collectors are technically chasing a piece of the 16th president’s handwriting, housed inside a card from a set that also includes baseball players, actors and other unusual subjects.
Allen & Ginter has long included non-baseball names and oddball inserts alongside its main checklist. The 2026 release also features cards dedicated to greetings in different languages, musical instruments and other subjects outside the sport.
Topps has not announced a public sale price for the Lincoln card. As the only copy in the set, its eventual value will likely depend on the quality of the signature, the document it came from and how badly collectors want to own one of the strangest cards in the product’s checklist.
