Netflix reality star Angel Victoria Murdock has been exposed for fabricating a Duke University education and allegedly constructing an entire career as a licensed real estate agent.
Murdock appeared as one of the surprise singles on Netflix’s 2025 season of Temptation Island, joining the dating experiment during its fourth episode. An official Netflix cast profile described her at the time as a “PA school student/Airbnb host.”
Away from the series, the 26-year-old amassed more than 300,000 followers by documenting her supposed studies in Duke’s Physician Assistant Program and promoting a high-end real estate business.
Duke graduates uncover Angel Murdock’s fabricated careers
Questions surrounding Murdock’s education began after students in Duke’s 2026 PA class encountered videos documenting her alleged classes, clinical rotations and studies.
In an exposé posted to Reddit, a user identifying themselves as a recent graduate said nobody in the 89-person class could recall seeing Murdock on campus or at any program event.
According to the graduate, one student congratulated Murdock after discovering they were supposedly classmates and was blocked within five minutes.
The group’s suspicions intensified when Murdock posted graduation pictures outside Duke Chapel. Students noticed that her master’s hood was the wrong color and found that she was missing from the class photograph and the program’s complete graduation ceremony.
“We started realizing something even weirder. None of us had ever even seen her,” the graduate wrote. “Not in class, not on campus, not at program events, and that’s when we discovered she was never even enrolled as a student.”
A Duke University spokesperson subsequently told the New York Post there was “no record of a student by the name of Angel Murdock having applied to or attended the Duke Physician Assistant Program.”
The outlet also contacted the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where Murdock claimed to have completed a double major in psychology and biology. The university reportedly said she left before completing her studies and never graduated.
However, Murdock’s purported medical education was not the only career she allegedly fabricated.
A separate Instagram page operating under the name “Angel Murdock REALTOR” described her as licensed in North Carolina and Georgia. Posts showed expensive property listings, house tours and supposed clients completing transactions.
“I got my license in September and ive been grinding ever since!” she wrote in one 2022 post. Murdock also claimed she was earning as much as $7,200 per month through real estate.
The Post found no record of Murdock in either state’s real estate license database. Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate, the company she claimed to represent, also said it had never employed anyone under her name.
It remains unclear whether Murdock actually performed any real estate work or fabricated the transactions for social media. The North Carolina Real Estate Commission says conducting brokerage activity without a license is a Class 1 misdemeanor, but simply pretending to have the career online would not necessarily meet that standard.
A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department source told the Post that Murdock is not currently under investigation. Police would reportedly examine the allegations if someone came forward claiming to have been affected by the alleged impersonation.
Murdock has not publicly responded to the allegations. Her primary social media accounts were made private or removed as the story spread online.
