All Might, or Toshinori Yagi, is a true icon of power and heroism in My Hero Academia. As the former Symbol of Peace, the eighth One For All user possessed incredible powers that allowed him to stand against All For One for years. Even after Izuku Midoriya inherited his Quirk, he continued to be an unstoppable force on the battlefield.
As such, only a few characters in My Hero Academia could survive a deadly match against All Might. With his iconic attacks that pack incredible destructive power, even the series’ strongest heroes and villains would struggle to withstand his overwhelming strength. These characters, however, possess the power, abilities, or durability to stand a chance against the Symbol of Peace.
Endeavor Pushed Himself to Become All Might’s Greatest Rival
It has always been Endeavor’s dream to surpass All Might in My Hero Academia, driving him to grow stronger and push his limits in pursuit of becoming the world’s greatest hero once and for all. Though he failed to strip All Might of his No. 1 title, he managed to strengthen himself to the point that he could finally stand alongside the Symbol of Peace as a worthy rival.
Like many other characters on this list, Endeavor pushed past his limits by the end of the series, facing powerful opponents such as All For One, Shigaraki Tomura, and even Dabi on multiple occasions. His Hellflame Quirk also proved devastating against High End Nomu, allowing him to burn through some of the series’ toughest bioengineered villains.
Star and Stripe’s New Order Could Have Given All Might a Difficult Fight
America lost an incredibly powerful hero in Star and Stripe, who had the potential to rival All Might at his peak. With her New Order Quirk, Star and Stripe could defy the laws of nature by imposing her own rules to strengthen herself, enhance her abilities, and, more terrifyingly, weaken her opponents in the most unimaginable ways possible.
Had Star and Stripe continued to survive in My Hero Academia, she would certainly have grown into a hero capable of challenging All Might at his strongest. Even so, her sacrifice for the greater good proved that she was willing to risk everything to protect others, leaving behind a legacy worthy of one of America’s greatest heroes.

Gigantomachia Had Enough Durability to Withstand All Might’s Attacks
Gigantomachia is All For One’s personal bodyguard for a reason, as his monstrous strength, insane durability, and formidable endurance make him a near-unstoppable force on the battlefield. Even the likes of Tomura Shigaraki had to spar with him for roughly six weeks before finally earning his respect, proving just how powerful Gigantomachia has become in the series.
Undeniably, Gigantomachia would pose a serious challenge to All Might. With multiple Quirks at his disposal, including Fierce Gains, which hardens his muscles to an exceptional degree, and Endurance, which converts his morale into physical energy, Gigantomachia could potentially withstand even All Might’s most devastating attacks.
Katsuki Bakugo’s Explosions Reached a Dangerous Level That Could Threaten All Might
Katsuki Bakugo is one of the most troublesome opponents any hero or villain could face on the battlefield. After all, he hates losing more than anything and would rather push his body to the brink of death than throw in the towel and accept defeat. His relentless determination and thirst for power drive him to surpass nearly every rival he faces throughout the series.
By the end of My Hero Academia, Bakugo has not only awakened his Quirk but also pushed his explosive abilities to their absolute limit, becoming one of the strongest heroes of his generation. His offensive attacks have grown so powerful that even All For One found himself struggling against him. If Bakugo can put this much pressure on a younger All For One, he could pose an equally serious threat to All Might in battle.
Shigaraki Tomura’s Power Eventually Surpassed All For One and All Might
Shigaraki Tomura’s hatred runs so deep that he ultimately becomes an irredeemable villain by the end of My Hero Academia. With the All For One Quirk at his disposal, alongside his Decay Quirk and numerous body modifications, Shigaraki becomes an absurdly powerful villain who surpasses both his Master and All Might in terms of power and combat ability.
Not even All For One can control Shigaraki, who eventually breaks free from his master’s influence and becomes a threat even greater than the villain who raised him. In a one-on-one battle with All Might, Shigaraki would give him a greater challenge than All For One ever could thanks to his overwhelming physical abilities, vast arsenal of quirks, and relentless drive to keep fighting.
All For One Had the Power and Resources to Survive All Might
All Might’s fiercest rival, All For One, has all the means to survive against the Symbol of Peace over and over again. With his overpowered Quirk and useful allies who support his schemes without hesitation, such as Dr. Kyudai Garaki and Gigantomachia, All For One has repeatedly found ways to recover, rebuild his forces, and continue pursuing his ambitions despite All Might’s efforts to bring him down.
It goes without saying that All For One has become the perfect counter to All Might, thanks to his vast collection of stolen Quirks that allow him to adapt to nearly any situation. As such, it comes as no surprise that he even forced All Might into retirement after their brutal final battle left the Symbol of Peace with severe injuries.
Izuku Midoriya Found a Way to Take One For All Beyond All Might
It’s inevitable for the student to surpass his teacher in anime, and surely, Izuku surpassed All Might by the end of My Hero Academia. With his mastery of the One For All Quirk and its other Quirk factors, Izuku became an incredibly powerful hero capable of wielding the full potential of One For All while combining it with the abilities of previous users.
While Izuku may not have the body to unleash attacks as powerful as All Might’s, his versatility and mastery of multiple Quirks allow him to fight in ways that his mentor never could. He proves that brute strength and the One For All’s stockpiling power are not the only factors that matter, as his mastery of multiple Quirks makes him incredibly difficult to counter.
