MrBeast has revealed that TeamWater has brought clean drinking water to 225,472 people during its first year, offering the clearest look yet at what the creator-led campaign’s $40 million has built.
The YouTube star launched TeamWater alongside Mark Rober and nonprofit WaterAid on August 1, 2025, with the goal of funding sustainable water systems around the world.
The campaign ultimately raised more than $40 million in 31 days. More than 10,000 creators from 144 countries participated, while YouTube and Google matched the first $2 million donated.

Exactly one year after its launch, MrBeast posted a video showing the progress TeamWater has made.
“The team is working so hard and making amazing progress,” he wrote. “Really grateful to all the creators who supported this and everyone who donated. YOU are the reason TeamWater is able to save lives.”
The video highlights completed projects across several continents, including a solar-powered water farm in Tanzania that produces 75,000 liters of groundwater daily.
Two off-grid water farms in Kenya can pump another 90,000 liters daily, while 700 households in Brazil have received filters capable of turning dirty water into safe drinking water.
TeamWater has also been working inside the United States. In West Virginia, partner organization DigDeep connected 50 homes to a main water line, ending residents’ reliance on purchased water and untreated mountain sources.
In Rwanda, clean water now travels through underground pipelines from a treatment plant to community kiosks. The project also supplied a local health post with reliable water, allowing it to reopen its labor and maternity ward.
The update ends with a counter showing that 225,472 people have been reached so far. TeamWater’s full goal is to provide sustainable access to clean water for two million people by 2030.
That longer timeline is necessary because the campaign is funding more than individual wells. WaterAid says projects include piped networks, solar-powered desalination plants, rainwater collection systems and gravity-fed pipelines spread across five continents.
One TeamWater project in Bangladesh alone is scheduled to run until September 2030 and aims to connect 210,000 people through expanded pipelines, water ATMs and decentralized water systems.
“We don’t do quick fixes,” WaterAid explained, saying it works with communities and local partners to create systems designed to keep operating after construction is complete.
