Political commentator Mehdi Hasan claims he would pay good money to any reporter to ask President Trump about visiting Wakanda.

On October 30, 2026, political commentator Mehdi Hasan took to social media and said that he would pay good money for reporters to ask President Trump a specific question. On his personal X account, the political commentator suggested reporters ask the president about visiting the fictional country of Wakanda. Hasan suggested the reporters should ask the president if he will personally sign the Sokovia Accords, another fictional document featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I’m on record saying I’d pay good money to a White House reporter who asks when Donald Trump is heading to Wakanda to sign the Sokovia Accords. (A bonus for throwing in: “The Wakandans are big fans of yours and say they want to build a Trump Tower in their country.”)
The commentator later added a suggestion that reporters should say the people of Wakanda want a Trump Tower in their fictional country. The goal here is to catch the president confidently talking about things he is not too familiar with.
