McDonald’s is bringing Blue Lock to its menu with three Nagi Bao Burgers, a bright blue Sprite and a KitKat White Matcha McFlurry.
The collaboration is inspired by Blue Lock Episode Nagi, the soccer manga spinoff centered on Seishiro Nagi. It launched at McDonald’s restaurants in France on September 22 and is scheduled to run through October 26. The company has not announced a launch outside France.
The Nagi Bao Burger comes in beef, crispy chicken, and breaded fish versions. Each uses a soft, white bao-style bun topped with black sesame seeds, plus cheddar, carrots, lettuce, cabbage, and a soy-based umami sauce. The beef option has two patties.
The drink is a sugar-free, passion fruit-flavored Sprite colored blue with spirulina extract. For dessert, the McFlurry KitKat White Matcha combines vanilla ice cream with white chocolate and matcha-flavored topping and KitKat White pieces. The same topping is available on a Sundae and a smaller P’tit Sundae, with the latter offered in Happy Meals.
Blue Lock mini-mangas and merch join the menu
McDonald’s has also teamed up with French publisher Pika Édition on five exclusive 32-page mini-mangas. Each sends Blue Lock characters to a different French city, where they encounter fictional Ligue 1 McDonald’s players. The stories are set in Paris, Marseille, Rennes, Lille and Monaco, with a new volume released each week.
Customers can add one randomly selected mini-manga to a Blue Lock Episode Nagi meal for an extra €1.25. The burgers, drinks, and desserts are also sold separately.
The promotion includes themed packaging, while McDo+ loyalty members can redeem 25 points for a keychain or 100 points for a reusable bottle.
It’s the latest crossover in a busy stretch for fast food and anime fans. Burger King recently revealed Dragon Ball Super toys featuring Goku and Vegeta, while McDonald’s brought Hello Kitty x Godzilla figures to Happy Meals. McDonald’s Blue Lock campaign goes further with a full food lineup and original manga stories.
