Hendry started the back-and-forth after he posted a scenario where he returns to streaming on Twitch to catch a shiny Onix in Pokemon before Paul does. For context, Paul is on the pursuit of capturing a shiny Onix in the game, a rare find. Suggesting that he would find one before “The Maverick” does, Joe wrote:
“Imagine I came back to Twitch, just to catch a shiny Onix in Pokémon before Logan Paul. Imagine.”
In response, Logan Paul claimed that Hendry has not been relevant since Paul got injured. For context, on May 23, 2026, “The Maverick” tore his tricep at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Paul accused Hendry of gaining momentum since then, seemingly hinting at Hendry’s Can We Fire Logan Paul song and an attack by Austin Theory, Paul’s tag team partner. He also accused the Scottish wrestler of larping as a Pokémon fan. He wrote:

Logan Paul Responds to Fans Accusing Him of Larping as a Pokemon Fan
On September 19, 2026, Logan Paul went live on YouTube in a stream titled STREAM ENDS WHEN I CATCH MY FIRST SHINY POKEMON. In the broadcast, “The Maverick” responded to comments suggesting he was larping as a Pokémon fan. Paul claimed that although he may have larped as a One Piece fan, his love for Pokémon is real. For context, the WWE wrestler came under fire from the One Piece community after he announced his expensive rare-manga purchases. Having acknowledged that, the former Vine star claimed he plays Pokémon Unite frequently. He said:
“For some reason I’m a polarizing individual in Pokemon just for loving it, which is insane and hence the larper comments and I’m not gonna lie to you guys. I’ve larped like, One Piece, bro, I’m gonna larp later. I’m putting on a Monkey Luffy *** costume, and I’m gonna larp hard…. However, with Pokemon, stop playing with me. There’s nothing I can do to prove to people that I love this game…. I’ve logged hundreds, if not thousands of hours playing Pokemon Unite.”
