Comedian and actor Bob Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, recently shared her thoughts on her husband’s death, five years after his passing. In an Instagram post, she shared 10 different slides addressing how she copes with grief. She talked about the sense of guilt she feels for being happy. She also addressed catching herself judging other people’s grief, and the fact that there will never be a new photo taken of him.

Stating that “the crying still shows up at the weirdest times,” Rizzo wrote:

“I’m still coming to terms with the fact that there will never be another new photo of him. I still feel guilty for feeling happy. Sometimes you catch yourself judging someone else’s grief. Which, of course, is off limits! (I heard about somebody dating again after two months, and I immediately thought, ‘that’s too soon!’ Then I feel bad for judging.) The crying still shows up at the weirdest times!”

She further talked about Bob Saget’s legacy, saying she doesn’t want people to forget his name. Rizzo talked about her late husband appearing in her dreams. She also said she now divides her life into before and after his passing, and that she no longer has time for “surface level stuff.” She wrote:

“Sometimes I catch myself thinking my grief counts less because I only knew Bob for six years. You still don’t want them to be forgotten. Say their name, tell their stories, it’s so strange how the world still keeps moving. Dreams don’t follow a timeline. I didn’t dream about Bob really for years, and I had my first significant dream about him just this year. Your life is still divided into before and after. BBD and ABD (Before Bob Died and After Bob Died). Small talk is still unbearable. You don’t have time for surface level stuff anymore.”

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bob Saget’s Full House co-star Jodie Sweetin talked about their time together on the show. Sweetin, who played Saget’s on-screen daughter Stephanie Tanner, said she would watch the “banter back and forth” between her co-stars. She revealed that she had always wanted to out-joke Saget, and when she finally did, the comedian complimented her on it. Stating that she “always gravitated to Bob,” Sweetin said:

“Bob and I’s brains always worked very similarly, I think. I remember being young and watching Bob and Dave just banter back and forth with jokes… Half the jokes, I probably didn’t get. But I knew they were funny, and I was like, picking up the rhythm… Growing up around that, I just kind of always gravitated to Bob, and then I became an adult and, you know, my goal was to always just out-Bob, Bob, as far as jokes, and I did it once at our ‘Fuller House’ wrap party and Bob looked at me, and he goes, ‘Wow, Jodes, that was a good one!’”
