In a recent podcast episode, Valkyrae opened up about her sexual orientation, claiming she had a “bi-awakening.”
On August 20, 2026, Twitch streamers Valkyrae and QTCinderella uploaded the latest installment of their podcast, Wine About It. The episode titled Calling Out Fear&, covered several topics, including QT’s new music, Inde Navarrette, and the hosts’ sexual orientations. At the 19:50 mark, the streamer opened up about her “bi-awakening,” saying she had ‘never allowed herself to explore.’ She stated:
“The past year, especially, I’ve been having my bi-awakening. It’s been really interesting, just what’s been going on in my head. Just realizing that I never really allowed myself to explore….My first sexual experience was with a woman…. I think I’ve started to realize how, like I’ve never, I think I’ve suppressed it entirely and not realizing how actually traumatic that was…. I also really liked her because she was the one that got me into gaming…. I don’t know what it is but I am just so shy about it…. Yeah, I don’t even know. I don’t even like talking about it…. I really don’t wanna label myself either.”
Fellow streamer Maya Higa co-hosted Wine About It with QTCinderella until July 2, 2025. She then stepped away from the podcast to focus on Alveus Sanctuary, her nonprofit animal rescue center. Following Higa’s departure, Valkyrae officially joined QTCinderella as the co-host and has continued to host the podcast ever since.
Valkyrae Opens Up About Why She Streams Less Than She Used To
On August 13, 2026, Wine About It released their episode titled Wedding Planning Live on the Podcast. Around the 5:00-minute mark, Valkyrae touched on her lack of streaming for the past few weeks. She said:
“I haven’t streamed in about three weeks…. I’ve been a streamer for almost 12 years now…. I’ll be 35 in January…. One of the things that I’ve always tried to do is to work on balancing my life…. I used to stream every single day, for 12 hours a day. I was grinding. I was that type of creator that would do the most…. As the years have gone on, I’ve been doing other things, hiring more employees, taking care of my family more. My sister quit her job, my mom quit her job, I have a lot of mouths to feed.”
