In Aion 2, players across a server can communicate with each other through different channels, including global, faction-wide channels, private whispers, legion guild hubs, and other channels. Here’s how you can cycle through these channels in-game.
How to Change Channels in Aion 2
To change the chat channels in Aion 2, here’s what you need to do:
- Launch Aion 2, select a server, and log in to a character.
- Press Enter to open the Chat Box.
- Press and hold ALT and move the cursor to the channel name that’s next to the text box.
- Click the channel name, and a window will pop up showing all channels you can switch to and use.
Channel communication is limited by server and faction. You cannot use channels to communicate with opposing faction members or servers. The only exception is when you’re inside a Spacetime Rift and visiting an opposing faction’s server.
Another way to switch channels is by typing the channel shortcut in the chatbox and pressing Space. Here are the shortcuts:
- Common (/s)
- Faction (/t)
- Event (/e)
- Whisper (/w)
- Shout (/h)
- Party (/p)
- Force (/f)
- Force Notification (/a)
- Legion (/l)
- Dungeon (/d)
You can only switch to chat channels that are currently active. For instance, if you’re not in a guild (legion), you won’t be able to open the legion channel.
Typing in the “Shout” channel makes a speech bubble appear above your character’s avatar with the typed message.
How to See Channel Chat History in Aion 2
To check chat history in any channel, here’s what you need to do:
- Press and hold ALT, and move the cursor over to the chat bubble icon next to the chat box.
- Click on the chat bubble, and a new window will pop up, showing chat history and a channel selector.
- Choose the channel you want to switch to from the channel selector column on the left.
- Scroll up and down to see all previous messages in that channel for your current session.
You can change the chat settings by clicking on the gear icon at the top of this window. Here, you can filter channels and notifications, turn on time displays, and even toggle auto-translate.
