Governor Gavin Newsom shared his thoughts after reading a report on President Donald Trump’s increase in gas and oil holdings. On his personal X (formerly Twitter) account, the governor shared a report by Democrats on the Congressional Joint Economic Committee, obtained by CBS News, about the president’s personal holdings. While President Trump is enthusiastic about how well the conflict is going, the governor is more focused on his gains. The governor added the following caption:

“His stocks have gone up 43%.”

In the same vein, Senator Elizabeth Warren also suggested that those in Congress should not own individual stocks. The president expressed that the ongoing conflict bodes well for the country’s oil and gas industry. Based on the reports, the president’s gas holdings now are “worth between $22.5 million and $81.6 million.”

Before the conflict with Iran began, the president’s personal holdings in gas and oil were only somewhere between $12.6 million and $46 million.

Despite the controversy, President Donald Trump assured the people that things will slowly normalize once the war with Iran is over. The president is optimistic, considering oil and gas companies in the country are making money.

“And while oil prices are temporarily high and will be falling dramatically in a short period of time, as soon as that war’s over, because there’s so much oil,”
