There’s always something new to look forward to in Heartopia, and this time, the Call of Whales update takes players on a new underwater adventure. Filled with activities, collectibles, exclusive rewards, and limited-time creatures, the Call of Whales is shaping up to be one of Heartopia‘s biggest seasonal events yet. Since many features unlock gradually over several weeks, it’s easy to miss important rewards if you don’t know where to look. This guide covers everything currently available in the Call of Whales event, including all fish, bird, and insect locations.
Updated August 1, 2026, by Usama Ali: Like previous events, the Call of Whales update brought tons of new content. We had a bunch of recipes to make, birds to photograph, and fish to catch during the first two weeks. Alongside all of this, Naughty’s Whale Hunt was also one of the major hits of the event, engaging fellow Heartopians to dive deep into the ocean and spot 16 whales cleverly hidden in different places. Week 3 of Call of Whales started today. As promised, a bunch of new insects were introduced. We’ve updated this guide with the remaining two birds and the new insects introduced today.
How to Start the Call Of Whales Event
Once the Call of Whales event goes live, go to the underwater portal to enter Whalefall Canyon. Spend a few minutes speaking with every NPC in the base camp. Each character introduces a different feature of the event, and many mechanics remain locked until their quests are completed.
One of the first rewards is the Ocean Vacuum, which is used to clean polluted sections of the sea. You’ll also unlock the Ocean Map that tracks which underwater areas still need restoration.
Cleaning polluted locations rewards Corals, Seashells, and a bunch of exclusive cooking ingredients which you can’t find anywhere else. These materials are automatically added to your collection.
Be sure to check out our Ocean Cleanup Hobby guide to learn how to unlock the hobby and level it up quickly.
Where to Find Azure
As always, Azure is the main seasonal event NPC throughout the Call of Whales event. She can usually be found outside Dorothee’s Shop beside the Research Store in Central Town. During the event, Azure also appears at the Whalefall Canyon Base Camp alongside the other event NPCs.
Azure purchases event materials in exchange for Fashion Wave Tokens. These tokens can then be spent on limited-time rewards, including clothing sets, furniture, emotes, decorations, and other cosmetics that disappear once the event ends.
How to Find Big Whales and Little Whales in Heartopia
Just like the Onsen Egg Promise quest in Heartopia where we were supposed to spot one egg daily. One of the most enjoyable side activities in this event is the daily hidden Whale Treasure Hunt. Talk to Naughty to begin the Big Whales and Little Whales quest. Every day, a different colorful whale appears somewhere around the underwater area.
After photographing the whale, you’ll see a bubble floating that contains a decorative whale ornament. Pop the bubble to permanently collect that day’s reward.
Always photograph the whale before searching for the reward bubble. The bubble only appears after the picture has been registered.
All Call Of Whales Fish Locations
A bunch of new sea creatures arrive during the event. Most can be caught anywhere within the Whale Sea, while one special species only appears in the Neritic Shoal Event. You can start this event by talking to Vanya.
While the Call of Whales Event is live, you can’t find Vanya at his usual spot. He can be found at the Whalefall Canyon.

Massimo introduces the event’s exclusive cooking content. Start his New Tastes In Town quest to unlock the Tidal Stove recipe along with the first two underwater dishes.
Unlike normal cooking stations, the Tidal Stove only functions while the Call of Whales event remains active. In addition, you can find Massimo at the Whalefall Canyon.
After preparing the first recipes and turning them in to Massimo, additional exclusive recipes become available. Here are all the Call of Whales cooking recipes:
We’ll continue to update this guide if we find more recipes in future.
