CyberLeek, the leaker behind the recent spate of GTA 6 leaks could be identified based on crypto wallet activity, with some finding that the account has made more than $50,000 already.
There have been a handful of big Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks over the years, with footage from early gameplay tests surfacing back in 2022. However, the clips we’ve seen since August 18 have blown those out of the water.
Starting on August 18, an account known as CyberLeek began publishing videos of gameplay, including Jason driving different cars, getting into fist fights with NPCs, and even shooting basketball at his house. Those leaks have expanded over the last few days with looks at the map, radio stations, and a clip of flying in a plane also hitting the internet.
Rockstar Games has hit the clips with DMCA claims, while internet sleuths have tried to identify the leaker before the developers.

As per user Vice Cit on the GTAForums, CyberLeek is using KuCoin, a crypto exchange platform, to sell their cryptocurrency. According to the findings, the leaker has already received around $50,000 from people. They noted that there is around $391,000 of unsold tokens that could be drip-fed.
“The crypto that funded all of this can be traced back to a well-known exchange that requires KYC (know your customer) verification. Which means whoever funded all of this had to submit documents verifying their identity that the authorities can subpoena the exchange for,” they said.
“So if KuCoin is subpoenaed, they would have the identity of the account holder, all of their transaction records, session history that could link them to certain events, and all kinds of other information authorities could use to find and convict the person behind these leaks,” Vice Cit added.
“If I was able to track down the KuCoin transaction in a few hours then R*’s team definitely had it first day of the leaks,” Vice Cit noted in a follow-up to their initial post.
GTAForumsCyberLeek hasn’t posted anything since August 20, but claims to have other videos in the pipeline. One of the last clips uploaded ended with them spelling out LEEK with bullets, suggesting they have a playable build of the game.
While the leaker is supportive of the Stop Killing Games movement, they have condemned the leaks, calling them “unacceptable,” and urged people not to spend money on the cryptocurrency.
Rockstar Games have not issued a statement in response to the clips and is still planning to go ahead with their extended look at GTA 6 on Netflix come August 27.
