Frontier Airlines has apologized after a flight attendant restrained a passenger near a cabin door while travelers were reportedly stuck onboard without air conditioning in Atlanta.
The flight from New Orleans had reached its destination, but getting everyone off the aircraft became a problem when the jet bridge malfunctioned.
TikTok user tavi.dinero said passengers were left in a dark, stuffy cabin after the engines and lights were switched off. The poster claimed one woman began hyperventilating and became unresponsive.
The account follows another reported ordeal in August 2026, when Ryanair passengers stripped, vomited and passed out while stuck on a plane without AC.
For the Frontier passengers, frustration escalated into a confrontation at the front of the aircraft.
Frontier says jet bridge malfunction stopped passengers from getting off
The 13-second clip shows a woman in a gray hoodie shouting “Open the door!” before a flight attendant holds her back from the doorway. Another passenger objects to the crew member touching her.
The TikTok user claimed passengers in the first 11 rows had been allowed off before the cabin doors were closed, leaving others waiting without air conditioning, water, lights or an explanation. After around 30 minutes, one woman allegedly began hyperventilating, shaking and losing consciousness.
According to the poster, the woman seen panicking in the video was that passenger’s daughter. They said she was trying to bang on the door to get a Frontier worker’s attention, rather than open it, after her mother had been unresponsive for five to eight minutes.
Frontier confirmed that flight 2052 arrived in Atlanta on October 6 and passengers had started leaving when a mechanical issue caused the jet bridge to become misaligned with the cabin door.
That halted the process until maintenance staff could fix the problem. The airline said passengers received announcements, something the TikTok poster disputed.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and discomfort that arose during this process,” Frontier said.
The carrier claimed that passengers continued getting off once the bridge was repaired and safely reconnected. It added that it was seeking further details about the incident.
Equipment failures have prompted other airline apologies, including Virgin Australia’s response after passengers were told to use bottles and sinks when onboard toilets broke in 2025. That airline offered affected travelers flight credits.
