Food influencer says couple hit her assistant and took her sunglasses during viral cafe clash

Food influencer Allie Tong has shared footage of a confrontation outside a San Francisco coffee shop after claiming a couple verbally harassed and physically attacked her assistant.

Tong, who runs the allie.eats Instagram account, said she and her assistant were filming a promotional video outside Wrecking Ball Coffee on October 27 when a man began insulting them as they packed up.

Her assistant started recording after Tong returned to ask what he had said. In the video, the woman accompanying him appears to lunge toward the assistant and grab at her phone.

Police confirm report after viral confrontation

Tong claimed the woman scratched her assistant on the chest, demanded that they delete the footage, and refused to return the assistant’s sunglasses.

The San Francisco Police Department confirmed that a report was filed on October 28 alleging battery and vandalism. Police said the victim’s sunglasses were damaged during the incident. No arrests have been made.

Tong said she originally posted the footage to help identify the pair. After social media users identified them, she shared a follow-up asking viewers not to dox or harass them.

Wrecking Ball Coffee subsequently banned the couple. Co-owner Joey Cannata said an employee witnessed part of the confrontation and gave an account consistent with the video.
