Conservative journalist Jonah Goldberg clashes with Hasan Piker and calls him an “apologist for murderers and terrorists.”
Jonah Goldberg has called out Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker on social media. On July 30, 2026, Goldberg commented on his recent appearance on CNN, stating that he “went easy” on Piker. Furthermore, he called the Twitch streamer a “fraud.”
The Turkish-American personality eventually responded to Jonah Goldberg, stating that the latter “seemed really scared about the changes taking place in American politics.”
He wrote:
“hey jonah, you seemed real scared about the changes taking place in american politics on that cnn panel buddy. is everything okay?”
Goldberg responded by saying that “he was not scared.” Expressing his belief that Piker’s “Mao schtik is moronic,” the 57-year-old stated that Piker is a “cosplaying radical kid of privilege and apologist for murderers and terrorists.”
He elaborated:
“I’m not scared. I think you guys will fail because your ideas are stupid and very, very, old and will fail wherever put into practice. Price controls are older than Christianity, for instance. Your Mao schtick is moronic and takes advantage of your fans’ ignorance. I think you’re a cosplaying radical kid of privilege and apologist for murderers and terrorists. But you’re not scary dude. You’re a poseur. I think it’s hilarious you streamed my comments to your easily duped fans.”

Jonah Goldberg appeared as a guest on the most recent segment of CNN’s The Arena with Kasie Hunt.
At one point, Goldberg name-dropped Hasan Piker and accused him of abusing his dog:
“Carville and Piker is very interesting to me. Carville’s a guy who’s won, I don’t know, hundreds of political campaigns in America over 30 years? 40 years? Hasan Piker is an influencer who abuses his dog on camera, and he is very popular with a certain fringe bunch of people out there. But he doesn’t care if the Democratic Party succeeds. He wins if the Democratic Party loses, and he wins if Democratic Socialists win. His interests are not aligned with winning in Purple States, in Swing States…”
