Alaska Airlines has responded after a TikToker was kicked off a flight before it had even taken off after she’d started praying for other passengers.
On July 30, TikToker Whitney Lynn found herself on a flight to San Diego from Orlando International Airport that had been delayed. While some fliers remained in their seats, looking to get through the delay without any issues, Lynn stood up and started praying for them.
“It’s kind of frustrating, right, this wait. But I want to tell you, God’s timing is perfect and God knows everything and maybe he’s sparing us from danger today,” she said, which led to her being removed by members of staff from Alaska Airlines.
“This wasn’t a harsh message at all. In fact, it’s probably one of the softest messages I’ve ever shared,” the evangelist said on Instagram, noting that she’d received an email from Alaska Airlines banning her from their flights and sister airlines.
Airline bans woman after praying for delayed flight
Speaking to People, an Alaska Airlines spokesperson confirmed Lynn’s ban, stating that other fliers and staff members had become concerned by her behavior.
“Our flight crew became increasingly concerned about a guest’s behavior on board the aircraft, which was also affecting other guests,” a spokesperson for Alaska Airlines said. “The passenger was asked to deplane the aircraft for safety reasons.”
The TikToker has been banned for the “foreseeable future,” while the airline investigates her. “We will reach out to you once again with a final decision. Thank you for your patience while we take the appropriate investigative steps,” they told her.
Lynn has uploaded follow-up videos of the incident, including her chat with police and airline officials, who reiterated that her behaviour had become a concern to others on the plane.
The Evangelist does preach on pretty much every flight she takes, but she won’t be doing so on Alaska moving forward.
She isn’t the only TikToker to have disrupted flights in the last few weeks. One influencer came under fire for stretching in the middle of the aisle, while another was temporarily denied boarding because she looked “naked.”
