Oogie Boogie has arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley with the new Season of Scares free update. To unlock him as a valley resident, you are required to complete several quests. There are six quests in total, with a new one becoming available each week. The first is called Halloween Invasion, where you will encounter Oogie Boogie through a strange mirror. Here’s how to complete A Halloween Invasion quest in DDV.

Oogie Boogie’s First Unlock Quest in Dreamlight Valley
You have to start the A Halloween Invasion quest before November 4. Once you’ve started it, you can complete the rest of the quest series whenever you want.
Investigate the Green Mirror
The first step is to enter Scrooge’s shop and talk to him. He will tell you about a strange mirror that started glowing while he was trying to put it on display. You decide to investigate it, and after taking a closer look, you enter the mirror.
You find yourself in a creepy new area. Go upstairs, where you will meet Oogie Boogie. He remembers you and explains that you trapped him here with your friends after he scared you. Now that you have returned, he’s happy to see you and gives you a few masks as a token of his appreciation.
Complete the Pumpkins Minigame
During the conversation, Oogie Boogie tells you that he’s come up with a few games after being trapped for so long. He has a Lucky Wheel which he asks you to spin, but nothing happens when you try it. Oogie Boogie figures that it’s out of juice, so your next task is to find some Fear Essence to power it up.
You can get Fear Essence by playing a pumpkin-smashing minigame. Pumpkins will pop up randomly in the minigame area, and you need to smash them with your pickaxe. You should try to hit them as soon as they appear because they will disappear back into the ground if you wait too long. Pick up the purple Fear Essence they drop.
Clear Oogie Boogie Bug Swarms
After giving the Fear Essence to Oogie Boogie, you can finally spin the Lucky Wheel. Unfortunately, it lands on the Halloween Curse. This causes swarms of bugs to invade the valley. Your next task is to clear them out of Mickey’s and Goofy’s houses.
Go to both houses and look for the bug swarms. Once you find them, you can interact with the swarms to get rid of them.
Find and Remove Sweet or Spooky Pumpkins
Once the bugs are gone, eight Sweet or Spooky Pumpkins will appear in the valley. You will find four pumpkins in the Plaza and four in Peaceful Meadow. They are large, so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding them. When you find one, hit it with your pickaxe to smash it and collect the Fear Essence it drops.
After smashing all eight pumpkins and collecting their Fear Essence, you need to go back to Oogie Boogie and spin the wheel again. This will give you a Halloween-themed furniture item, which completes the A Halloween Invasion quest.
