Mysterious “space object” finally identified after crash landing in farmer’s field

A mysterious “space object” has been identified after it landed in a farmer’s field, leaving both him and the police a little baffled.

Over the years, plenty of items that have been to outer space have come crashing back down to Earth. Some of these have been linked to UFOs and extraterrestrial life, while others are part of ‘space junk’ from rockets and satellites sent up by humans.

Back on October 14, the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office in Stevens County, Minnesota, reported that a “space object” had landed in the field of a local farmer. “Upon responding, deputies confirmed that a large, metallic object, approximately 11-feet in diameter, presumably a space object, was present in the cornfield,” they posted on Facebook.

“The Sheriff’s Office is working closely with several state and federal agencies to identify and notify the owner of the debris and to plan for removal from the field.”

“Space object” identified as piece of Chinese rocket

Naturally, that sparked some wild theories about what it could be. However, a week later, Ars Technica reported that the debris likely came from a Chinese rocket.

That would be the Chinese Zhuque-2E rocket, to be exact, which was launched from the Gobi Desert and sent 10 satellites into space.

According to the report, the rocket launched on September 15 and came down just over an hour later. Ars Technica noted that social media videos showed debris falling over the Midwest, including Kansas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

They noted that the debris is a ‘perfect match’ for the upper stage of the Zhuque-2E rocket, which could have caused damage had it landed on a more densely populated area.

That should end any of the wild theories that popped up about the item, including some who linked it to a story from Joe Rogan’s podcast with UFO whistleblower David Grusch.

Grusch told Rogan that US personnel shot and killed reptilian beings that survived a spacecraft crash.
