You can unlock Notre-Dame in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse after defeating The Artist and obtaining Brauner’s Paintbrush from The Occultist in the Library. So beating The Artist alone is not enough, as you also need to find The Occultist for the Paintbrush.
How To Go To Notre-Dame In Castlevania Belmont’s Curse
To go to Notre-Dame in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, you must defeat The Artist boss and get Brauner’s Paintbrush. After meeting the two conditions, head to the Notre-Dame painting location in the Main Hall, then equip the Masterpiece Arcana to make it work.
Once all the conditions are met and equipped, stand before the painting in the room beneath Brauner’s Atelier in the Main Hall, then interact with it to open Notre-Dame as a travel destination in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.
The Artist Location In Castlevania Belmont’s Curse
The Artist boss in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, is waiting in the Main Hall, specifically inside Brauner’s Atelier. Reaching its location will be an easy task, as there are no obstacles beforehand.
However, defeating The Artist boss, Brauner, requires you to have the Smash ability, which is used to destroy The Artist’s artwork.
The Smash ability can be obtained after defeating The Builder boss in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. This boss is found in the lower left part of the Clock Tower map. Defeat it and get the ability, then head back to The Artist’s location. Next, you’ll need to climb above the painting in Brauner’s Workshop and use Smash above the giant painting to destroy it.
Once the painting is destroyed, The Artist boss will emerge and ask Rose to spare them without a boss fight in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.
How To Get Brauner’s Paintbrush In Castlevania Belmont’s Curse
To get Brauner’s Paintbrush, you need to beat The Occultist boss in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.
The Occultist boss, Carmilla, is located at the top of the Library, specifically in the Observatory. However, reaching it isn’t an easy task, because you need to explore the Library almost fully before you can reach its location.
One thing that will make it easier for you to explore the Library is knowing the star alignment for each planet, as demonstrated in the pictures above and the text below:
- The Vitruvian Man: Light up the lower stars with a half-shield shape.
- The Vitruvian Woman: Light up the stars like a lightning or inverted Z shape.
- The Vitruvian Skeleton: Light up the stars with a bow-like shape, lighting up one star on the left side and three on the right side.
