Social media users on X react to Twitch streamer Pokimane’s pet cat, who died after jumping from a balcony.
On September 28, 2026, Twitch streamer Pokimane went live and addressed the death of her cat, Mimi. The streamer had ended her stream abruptly, saying there was an emergency. Upon returning to the broadcast, the streamer addressed the situation. She said her cat had jumped off the balcony and was rushed to the ER, but Mimi could not be saved. Furthermore, she added that the cleaners had opened the balcony doors, which allowed the cat to slip through and jump off.
A clip of the broadcast was shared by popular X user @yoxics, garnering up to 3 million views at the time of writing. Social media users reacted to the news, with some urging the streamer to file a lawsuit against the cleaners. They wrote:

Pokimane Explains the Situation Behind Her Cat’s Passing
In her stream, Pokimane addressed the emergency and why she had to end the stream abruptly. She said her cat, Mimi, was taken to the ER. As she fought back tears, the streamer explained that after seeing the look on the doctor’s face, she could tell Mimi was gone. During her stream, she said:
“The emergency was that, um, my assistant told me that they took Mimi to the ER, and I was really confused because I had been streaming the whole time, right? Apparently, the cleaners opened the balcony. I don’t know why because usually we don’t clean the balcony. She went on the balcony and maybe they were trying to get her to come back…. And, she jumped…. I went to the ER…. When the doctor came in, I could just tell by the look on their face…. Everything around me is Mimi. That was my baby. I just want to let you guys know since I left so abruptly. That’s all.”
