White House’s Legend of Zelda video featuring an 8-bit Donald Trump sparks backlash online, with a YouTuber calling for legal action.
Tech YouTuber JerryRigEverything called out the White House account for posting a video on X featuring Donald Trump in the style of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The post comes in a long line of videos released by the White House portraying the President as part of well-known franchises. A few days ago, the account posted a video of Trump as the Green Lantern, incurring backlash from even right-wing commentators like Alex Jones. Now it seems the White House is hopping on the Legend of Zelda bandwagon after Nintendo announced a remake of Ocarina of Time.
The video, posted on September 8, 2026, has gone viral on X. It reimagines the classic Nintendo game with Donald Trump as the main hero. And not everybody is happy. YouTuber JerryRigEverything blasted the person behind the White House account for posting the video. Insinuating that it was an intern, the YouTuber stated that he would vote for anyone who jails them:
“I’m voting for whoever is gunna [sic] put this intern in jail.”
JerryRigEverything is not the only one who criticized the White House account for the Legend of Zelda-styled video. Some even tagged Nintendo, asking them to take legal action.
“@Nintendo please sue these idiots,” requested X user @SilentSnow89.
“Please, Nintendo, the most anti-fan, litigious game company of all time, if you’re going to sue someone, sue these bozos,” wrote @David_Moscrop.
“I hope Nintendo sues you into the ground,” said @donmcgowan.

“Legend of Trump”: White House Posts Video Of Trump in Legend of Zelda Game Franchise
The 34-second video posted by the White House on X features President Donald Trump parodying Legend of Zelda video games. It features music similar to the original game and a rendition of Trump working in the White House. The 8-bit video also names the hypothetical game as:
“Legend of Trump: Make America Great Again”
The short video shows Donald Trump walking into the Oval Office and writing stuff down with the following caption:
“President Trump is working tirelessly… TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
This is not the first time that JerryRigEverything has called out the White House account. The Zelda video comes a day after the White House got backlash for an allegedly AI-generated video celebrating Labor Day. JerryRigEverything blasted that video as well, calling it “slop from the top.”
