Influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo died after penis enlargement procedure

British-Nigerian influencer and businessman Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo died from a pulmonary embolism caused by a cosmetic penis enlargement procedure, a UK coroner has reportedly concluded.

Ubiribo, who was also known online as Denisi and Ego, had approximately 185,000 Instagram followers and regularly shared glimpses of his luxury lifestyle. He was married to Zimbabwean fashion designer and socialite Danielle Simba Allen and was a longtime friend of Afrobeats star Davido.

His death was first announced on March 6. Early reports claimed he had suffered a heart attack while in the Philippines, but the findings from a UK inquest have now provided a different account of what happened.

Inquest reveals what happened during Ubiribo’s Thailand trip

According to TMZ, citing an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court, Ubiribo received injections containing 40 milliliters of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine at an unnamed clinic in Thailand.

Ubiribo was reportedly vacationing in Bangkok with Allen when he underwent the procedure. The couple went for a massage afterward, during which he began experiencing chest pain and lost consciousness twice.

He was transported by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital, where he was initially able to respond to questions. Allen informed medical staff about the injections, but Ubiribo lost consciousness before doctors could perform a recommended CT scan.

Doctors determined that he had suffered a pulmonary embolism and transferred him to intensive care. He died in the early hours of March 6 despite prolonged attempts to resuscitate him.

A postmortem examination conducted in the UK reportedly found material in Ubiribo’s lungs consistent with the substance used during the procedure. Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently concluded that the cosmetic treatment had caused the fatal embolism.

The NHS describes a pulmonary embolism as a blockage in a blood vessel in the lungs that can become life-threatening without immediate treatment.

Ubiribo’s death came shortly after influencer and Botched star Jordan James Parke died at 34. Parke’s exact cause of death had not been confirmed when his family announced his passing.

Following the initial news of Ubiribo’s death, Davido shared a tribute to his longtime friend on Instagram.

“You loved and believed in me so much,” he wrote. “I won’t let you down.”
