All That is Left is a side quest in STALKER 2 that involves helping one of the Ward’s officers find an artifact for his men. You’ll have to search for this artifact in a nearby toxic dump, and not long after you get it, you’ll meet a researcher who wants the artifact for scientific purposes. Whether you side with the officer or the researcher will affect the rewards you get in this quest, and if you’re wondering what you can do to get the best outcome in this STALKER 2 quest, here’s a guide to help you out.
STALKER 2: All That is Left Walkthrough
After you help resolve the issue with the Ward and the local stalkers in Zalissya, the western pontoon gate leading to the Chemical Plant will open up, and once you get to the plant itself, you’ll get a radio call from Lt. Mateus. Humor him, and he’ll give you a job — find an artifact in the nearby Chemical Tanks, and bring it to him.
Head south to reach the Chemical Tanks. Enter the compound through the guardhouse by the main gate, and you’ll get attacked by a Pseudodog. Kill it, enter the compound, then follow your quest marker until you find an opening on the floor below an anomaly. You’ll find this in the middle of all the chem tanks to your left.
Below, you’ll find a group of Snorks hopping around. Chuck a few grenades or clear them out with your shotgun, then drop into the underground area to find the body of a dead soldier and a stash filled with loot. Take what you need, then go through the nearby doorway and follow it back up to the surface.
After exiting the underground, you’ll find a ramp that you can use to reach the artifact that Lt. Mateus needs. Make your way to it by hopping onto the lid of the nearby tank, then jumping over the broken guard rail to reach the artifact.
Should You Give the Artifact to Mateus or Zaretskyi
If you return to Mateus through the main gate of the Chemical Tanks, you’ll encounter Professor Zaretskyi, an ecologist who wants to study the artifact you just picked up. From this point, you have several choices:
- Sell the artifact to Zaretskyi and forfeit the reward from Mateus
- Ignore Zaretskyi and go back to Mateus

Decline Zaretskyi’s offer, then give the artifact to Mateus
- Zaretskyi will ask you to get the dead soldier’s body from the underground and toss it into the anomaly near the ramps just outside the underground area
- Get the PDA from the soldier’s body, give it to Mateus, and keep the artifact for yourself
For the best outcome, don’t give the artifact to Zaretskyi and complete his research request instead. Pick up the fallen Warden’s body, drop it into the anomaly near the underground exit, then go back to Zaretskyi for a reward. After that, go back to Mateus and give him the dead Warden’s PDA for another small Coupon reward. This way, you get money and a Soul artifact, which will increase your Endurance when equipped.
Coupon rewards will vary depending on your chosen STALKER 2 difficulty. The harder your game is, the less Coupons you get from selling items and completing jobs.
