Rob Brinkmann, an actor GTA 6 fans were convinced was playing Jason, has denied being involved, but there’s another name in the mix.
Despite GTA 6 being just weeks away, Rockstar Games has kept the identities of its two main actors under wraps. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos will be the game’s two playable protagonists, with trailers offering plenty of opportunities to hear their voices, but neither actor has been officially named.
Over the years, fans have linked several performers to the roles, examining everything from their previous acting work to their appearances and voices.
Now, Rob Brinkmann has become the latest actor to find himself caught up in the speculation, after a video of him speaking sparked comparisons with Jason.
Rob Brinkmann addresses GTA 6 Jason voice actor rumors
A video of Brinkmann speaking began circulating online, with fans claiming that his voice sounded remarkably similar to Jason’s in GTA 6. However, he quickly responded to the speculation, denying that he’s the person voicing Jason.
“A little birdie told me that a little faction of you on that big beautiful internet think that I, Rob Brinkmann, am the voice of Jason Duval in Grand Theft Auto 6,” he said in a video. “And I gotta tell you, you got it wrong, folks. I’m so sorry, I’m not your guy.”
“But thank you so much for the wonderful things you’ve said about my voice; I really like that. And big cheers to the guy that does the character.”
With Brinkmann now ruling himself out, Dylan Rourke remains the leading candidate among fans to be the voice of Jason in GTA 6.
The actor, who has appeared in Modern Family and Grey’s Anatomy, has been linked to the role for some time, with fans pointing to similarities between his voice and Jason’s dialogue in Rockstar’s trailers.
However, unlike several other actors linked to Jason, Rourke has not publicly ruled himself out. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s involved, and neither he nor Rockstar has confirmed his casting.
So far, the only actor to confirm they are involved in GTA 6 is Stephen Root, who will play Jason’s mentor Brian Heder.
