Influencer sentenced to 10 years for killing millionaire uncle by ramming him into tree with car

A Florida influencer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after killing his millionaire uncle by ramming him into a palm tree with his Jeep.

Jordan Aronson, 24, pleaded guilty to manslaughter with a weapon over the death of 59-year-old philanthropist and co-founder of nonprofit 13 Ugly Men, Scott Grebler.

Aronson has more than 52,000 TikTok followers and another 23,000 on Instagram, where he posted workout videos and advice for baseball pitchers, according to Metro.

The incident happened on June 13, 2023, while Aronson was staying at his uncle’s $3 million Tampa home. The pair became involved in a dispute reportedly sparked by missing money.

Aronson claimed Grebler, who had Parkinson’s disease, accused him of stealing and became aggressive. However, prosecutors said surveillance footage showed the argument remained verbal, with neither man touching the other.

Influencer pleads guilty to reduced manslaughter charge

Footage reportedly showed Aronson getting into his Jeep and reversing out of the driveway as Grebler threw papers and a binder toward the vehicle.

According to Court TV, Aronson then suddenly accelerated forward, striking Grebler and “ramming his body into” a palm tree.

Grebler suffered serious skull and brain injuries and was placed on a ventilator. He died in hospital days later.

Aronson initially pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder but accepted a deal that reduced the charge to manslaughter with a weapon. The agreement carried a 10-year prison sentence instead of the maximum possible 30 years.

Judge Gregory Green also ordered Aronson to serve five years of probation following his release, complete 50 hours of community service, and attend an anger management course.

Aronson is the latest social media figure to receive a lengthy prison sentence. Influencer Ashley Grayson was handed 10 years behind bars for attempting to hire someone to kill an online rival.

YouTuber Stephen McCullagh is also appealing his life sentence for murdering his pregnant girlfriend while faking a GTA stream. He has since topped an inmate “hitlist” and has been dubbed the most hated man in the prison.

Meanwhile, Bigo Live streamer Rosa Iberê Tavares Dantas became a fugitive after being sentenced for killing a personal trainer with her SUV.
