How to Unlock All New Content in Ball x Pit’s Naturalist Update

The Naturalist Update is the last free update for Ball x Pit. It introduces fourteen new evolutions and two new characters, both of whom have their own unique gameplay gimmick. The Hoary Hoarder swaps three of their ball slots for passive slots, while The Ballbearer can equip ten balls but no passives.

Thanks to these gimmicks, unlocking all of the new content in the Naturalist Update is pretty simple, particularly if you have what it takes to survive Endless Mode. However, before you can unlock the new evolutions, you’ll first need to know which balls and passives to combine, which is where this Ball x Pit guide should come in handy.

All New Ball Evolutions in Ball x Pit’s Naturalist Update

There are ten new ball evolutions introduced in the Naturalist Update, five of which require the use of the new ball, Flesh. Perhaps the most interesting of these new evolutions is Elemental, which, unlike all of the other Ball x Pit evolutions, requires four different balls. It’s not particularly powerful on its own, but can be useful when fused with certain high-tier evolutions.

All New Passive Evolutions in Ball x Pit’s Naturalist Update

The Naturalist update adds a brand-new passive and four new passive evolutions. Interestingly, only one of the new passive evolutions makes use of the Platinum Dumbbell​​​​​​, with the rest made up by combining existing items. Those looking to test out all of the new passive evolutions for themselves should use the Hoary Hoarder, who gets three additional passive slots.

All New Characters in Ball x Pit’s Naturalist Update

Like the two previous updates, the Naturalist Update introduces two new Ball x Pit characters. Players can unlock The Hoary Hoarder by finding and building the Unstable Tower blueprint. They can unlock The Ballbearer by finding and building the Ball House blueprint. I found the Unstable Tower blueprint in The Heavenly x Gates and the Ball House blueprint in The Vast x Void, although your experience may vary.
