YouTuber brings drivable couch to car meet-up and enrages other drivers

A YouTuber brought a drivable couch to a car meet-up and was confronted by a Porsche owner in the next bay.

YouTuber Dalton Thompson built a drivable couch by mounting a two-seater blue couch on the base of an electric skateboard. According to a police officer, it counted as a personal mobility device meaning it was legal.

He entered it into a car show competition and lost in the ‘original vehicle’ category. However, Thompson soon took it to another car show where an altercation arose with an angered driver.

Thompson was told where to ‘park’

Upon arriving, members of staff gladly accepted the vehicle and told Thompson to take it down the road to a specific spot, as long as it could tackle speed bumps. One of the coordinators recognized him and told him to park the couch between a black Porsche and a BMW.

As Thompson showed attendees the “trunk” beneath the cushions, someone warned him: “Do you know how p*ssed off all these old people are gonna be?”

Soon, the owner of the Porsche arrived and ordered Thompson to “get [the couch] the f*ck away” from his car. The man then sat on a chair beside his car and continued to berate Thompson. “Why is it here? It’s not a car,” the man said.

Thompson retorted that he was told to park in the spot by event staff and that the man should move if he has a problem, to which he replied: “I was here first.”

Thompson then left to take a look around the other cars before noticing the Porsche driver leaving. The staff member who recognized Thompson reappeared to reveal he had told him to park the couch near the Porsche driver on purpose.

According to him, the Porsche driver was already unpopular after arriving early, refusing to park where staff members told him to, and acting against the wishes of the organizers.
