After Abdul El-Sayed launched the “Habibi PAC,” Laura Loomer said his base “got played” and questioned how it differs from AIPAC.

Far-right political activist Laura Loomer criticized Abdul El-Sayed after the Democratic Senator-elect launched the “Habibi PAC” after winning in the midterms. Loomer rebuked El-Sayed for launching a political action committee, emphasizing that the Democrat ran on getting “money out of politics.”
Laura Loomer called the whole thing “funny” and “disturbing,” and admonished Abdul El-Sayed’s supporters. She claimed the Senator-elect “played” his base. In a post on X dated November 8, 2026, Loomer wrote:
“There is something SO funny yet so disturbing at the same time about Abdul El-Sayed saying he wants to get money out of politics, and then immediately creating a PAC less than one week after winning his election. You all got played.”

In the same post on X, Laura Loomer compared Abdul El-Sayed’s new PAC with AIPAC. Loomer contrasted El-Sayed’s criticism of AIPAC in the run-up to the midterm elections and asked how the Habibi PAC is different from AIPAC, writing:
“If the fate of our country wasn’t so devastating and horrific, this would be the funniest comedy ever. So AIPAC is bad… but Habibi PAC for Muslims who promote Gaza and Iran is good?”
Loomer added:
“Make it make sense.”
PACs, or political action committees, pool funds from donors to support political campaigns. Leadership PACs let lawmakers raise funds to donate to other candidates and party committees; they are separate from a candidate’s own campaign committee. According to Al Jazeera, an FEC filing from November 5 showed Abdul El-Sayed sponsored the Habibi PAC. It is a separate entity from his campaign, and borrows the Arabic term “habibi,” which translates to “my beloved.”
El-Sayed has used the term several times during his campaign for the midterms. He also used it during his victory speech, when he referred to Vice President JD Vance as “habibi.”
