Twitch streamer Tylil James has apologized after a video of a flight attendant serving him ice cream sparked backlash over the comments viewers left about her appearance.
James, a New York-based content creator, shared the roughly 17-second clip on November 6. The footage showed a flight attendant leaning toward the camera while offering ice-cream toppings. James chose chocolate chips and hot fudge before captioning the post, “My flight attendant was so nice.”
The video was later reposted across social media, including by The Neighborhood Talk on Instagram. Viewers quickly focused on the attendant’s appearance, with some posting mocking comments and comparisons. Others questioned why James filmed and shared a routine interaction with a service worker.
Tylil deletes video and asks viewers to stop
James has since deleted the original post, although copies continue to circulate online. He addressed the backlash on social media, writing: “Everyone please stop the hurtful comments. She was so sweet and I loved her! I’m sorry my post brought any negativity her way. She deserves nothing but respect & love.”
According to Mundo Deportivo, another passenger who claimed to have been on the same flight described the attendant as “mad nice to everyone” and urged James to delete the clip. That account has not been independently verified.
Some viewers criticized James for posting the video in the first place, arguing that the attendant was exposed to unwanted attention while simply doing her job. Others defended the streamer, saying the footage showed a polite interaction and did not contain an insult from James.
James’ apology came after the clip had already spread widely, leaving the attendant at the center of a debate she did not appear to initiate. No public response from the flight attendant or airline has been identified.
