Twitch streamer Knut somehow failed to notice police trying to pull him over for around a full minute while he appeared to be reading chat behind the wheel.
The Norwegian Twitch creator was broadcasting from his vehicle when a police car appeared behind him with its emergency lights flashing.
Despite the difficult-to-miss light show in his rearview mirror, Knut continued driving along the highway while repeatedly glancing at a screen mounted beside him.
After roughly 60 seconds, the streamer finally noticed the police and pulled over.
Knut mocks viewers accusing him of distracted driving
Knut returned to his broadcast around 10 minutes later and claimed the stop had nothing to do with him streaming or reading chat while driving.
“He said the rear lights were f**ked up,” Knut explained, adding that he was allowed to leave without receiving a ticket.
The streamer also claimed the officer was impressed by his setup. “Police was complimenting what a nice camera it is.”
Knut then mocked viewers who raised concerns about distracted driving, saying: “‘Oh my God, it’s distracted driving! He’s not allowed to have the camera in the car.’”
When viewers pointed out that he had continued driving for a minute before pulling over, Knut argued that he was waiting for a safe place to stop.
“You can’t stop in the middle of the highway, retard. Are they insane?” he said.
There is currently no indication that Twitch has taken action against Knut over the incident as his channel remains available at the time of writing and hasn’t been banned.
The platform’s rules prohibit dangerous or distracted driving, including interacting with streaming equipment while operating a vehicle. However, driving streams remain permitted.
The clip arrives amid renewed scrutiny of the category. Asmongold and other creators recently urged Twitch to ban driving streams entirely following ExtraEmily’s third suspension involving a driving incident.
Twitch later sparked backlash by appointing ExtraEmily as a brand ambassador despite her history of bans.
The risks have also extended beyond close calls. In 2023, Polish Twitch streamer Sidneuke was banned after appearing to hit a dog while distracted by her phone.
