Popular streamer Nick Lee on August 11, 2026, revealed that a zebra that he bought for $100k had died, labelling it a “very bad investment.” The streamer labelling the animal as such has now brought forth a wide variety of criticism, with one user calling for streamers to be blacklisted:
“They need to be blacklisted from owning animals.”
Another user echoed a similar sentiment, wishing that “streamers and rich people” stopped messing with animals:
“This poor beautiful zebra had no chance with these people Streamers and Rich people need to stop messing with wild animals.”
One user alleged that they neglected the zebra:

Finally, one user was clearly upset about the whole affair, and minced no words:

Nick Lee was driving his car and talking money with his viewers, discussing all investments he has made, which included ranches, Crypto, and more. As the discussion progressed, a viewer asked him if he was the “zebra owner,” to which he then responded, saying that the zebra was a “very bad investment.” He then pulled his phone out and showed a picture of the dead zebra to his viewers:
“Oh guys, the zebra was a very bad investment. It’s already done-zo. The zebra was a bad idea. RIP zebra guys. It had a good run. It had a good run… Stripes, 2026 to 2026… What? You never seen a $100,000 go to heaven before?”
